FAQs

Adoption Information
  • Puppies are chosen in order of deposits received. I do reserve the right to put a breeder at the top of the list when needed, since they have more criteria when picking a puppy. (This will only happen on the Miniature Poodle List). We will take pictures and videos and post them on our FB page, or we can doa personal video call, if you’d like. Once it gets close to picking time, we go down the deposit list. When it is your turn, you can either choose from what is available or wait for another litter, your choice. If you pass on a litter, you stay on the list and move up as people ahead of you choose puppies. We just ask that people be prepared to pick (or pass) when it is their turn so that we can get through the list as quickly as possible. If I cannot get a hold of you within 24 hours, I may have to pass you and come back to you. If you know you will be hard to reach, just let me know ahead of time. It takes a little cooperation on everyone's part so puppy picking can go smoothly and not take more than a couple of days. We can make video calls or extra videos with you too, if needed, to help you pick. After we finish going through the deposit list, we will publicly post any pups still available from that litter. I cannot hold a puppy without a deposit.

I work with all my future puppy owners to help them pick the right puppy for their family. I reserve the right to refuse the sale of any puppy to any family if I feel it is not a good fit.

  • Your puppy must be at least 8 weeks old before it can leave to a new home. Some puppies I will keep even longer, depending on the puppy's readiness. I like my puppies to be at a good weight and eating dry food before they leave.

  • Pick up in person - We always look forward to meeting our puppy clients in person! We will provide specific directions on how to get to a location close to our home, and we ask that you please send us a text just as you’re 15 minutes away so we can meet at the same time! Pick up in person is also a scheduled time. We have other families who may be meeting up the same day as well.

Flying in to pick up your puppy - We can meet you at our local airport in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (CID). We are located just 20 minutes away. CID currently has Allegiant, American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, United

Ground Transportation - If you choose to move forward with ground transportation, we can contact one of our trusted ground transporters to assist in planning the delivery of your puppy to your area. Your location does determine pricing and scheduling. The Charge generally ranges between $200 and $800 depending on your location. Please contact us for a Price Quote!

The ground transport charge covers the following services:

    • Ground transporter fee

    • Final thorough vet exam & health certificate for your new puppy

    • Rabies vaccination, if your puppy is over 12 weeks of age

If you plan to meet up with one of our ground transporters, we will ask that you find a suitable public meeting place that is relatively close to your home, but will also allow easy access off the freeway, please. As soon as you have that location figured out, please let us know the name of the location and address and we'll put it with the travel notes.

Flight Nannies - We have been mostly utilizing puppy nanny flight service at this time. Puppy nannies will hand-carry your puppy in the cabin of the airplane on a “stand-by” basis from our airport to the international airport that is closest to your location. Because of that, they will look for a flight that has the best chance of them being able to board so that their flight plan is usually accurate. On occasion, they won’t make it on the planned flight due to there being no seats available. At that time, they will reroute their flight plan. They are excellent to stay in contact with us via the group text that we will have going on that day so keep us all in good communication for travel progress and updates.

Currently, the flight nanny charge is $700+, depending on your location and ease of accessibility and includes:

    • Puppy nanny charge

    • Airline charge for pet in-cabin

    • Final thorough vet exam & health certificate for your new puppy

    • Rabies vaccination, if your puppy is over 12 weeks of age

Occasionally, our flight nannies’ planned flights will be sold out necessitating a change in travel plans. When that happens, they are good to keep us all updated on what's going on so that we all know what to expect.

We are unable to choose the delivery date and there needs to be flexibility with your schedule when working with a flight puppy nanny.

  • Your puppy will come with up-to-date shots, and worming, at least one thorough vet check, AKC reunite microchip, a 1-year genetic health guarantee, a paper with his or her birth date, shot records and all other pertinent info, a leash and collar, and a small baggie of his current food. If your puppy is registerable, they will come with his AKC puppy papers. All papers are limited registry (pet only) unless negotiated otherwise.

  • For deposits, we accept PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash (if you're here in person)

For the final payment, we also accept PayPal, Venmo and Zelle, but PLEASE DO NOT SEND IT AS PAYING FOR GOODS AND SERVICES or we will have to charge you the additional fees. Zelle and Cash are always a great option for your final payment since there are no fees.

If you pick up the puppy in person, final payment is due at that time. If we use a transporter or nanny, final payment must be made 24 hours before the delivery date. If you plan on using an electronic method like PayPal, Venmo or Zelle, make sure you know what your daily limits are. They vary according to your bank, etc. and you don't want to delay shipping by not being able to send the final payment in time. We cannot ship a puppy without full payment. We do not accept checks. We do not accept credit cards.

  • All of our Cavapoo puppies are $2500 and come with a strict Spay/Neuter policy. The $250 deposit goes towards the purchase of your puppy. The Miniature Poodles start out at $2500 and go up based on breeding rights and Genetic testing. If picking up in Iowa, we do have to charge Iowa sales tax of 7 %. For example, if you purchase a puppy here in Iowa for $2500 you must add the 7 % tax so the total cost will be $2675. This is not negotiable. In Iowa, as a breeder of dogs, the buyer must pay a sales tax if the puppy is picked up in Iowa. If you need your pup delivered or shipped to you, that costs extra as well (see shipping options). If we have a puppy available after 12 weeks of age, we will sometimes reduce the price at that point. You can always message us and ask!

Breeding & Health
  • Our puppies are raised in our home one litter at a time. We are a small breeder who takes our time to select the right parents with the right DNA to make a healthy, happy puppy. We make it our goal to prepare them for their new forever home. They have gone through ENS, ESI, and Jeanette Forrey’s curriculum. They will have had some experience in crate training, which is a wonderful tool for you to take them home and continue the training. They are familiar with many different sounds and touches by time they reach your home. We have small children and adults who have been socializing with your puppy. They have been loved very much since their birth. We take great pride in loving and raising them to be good dogs.

  • Quality Puppy Food.

To ensure that your puppy grows up healthy and strong, it is essential to provide a high-quality puppy food that meets his or her nutritional requirements. We feed them Diamond Naturals puppy food.

    Here’s what makes them different…

Every dry dog food formula is enhanced with K9 strain Probiotics, beneficial bacteria that support digestive and immune systems and help your dog maintain an active lifestyle.

Should you choose a different brand, no need to worry! We send our puppies home with food to assist with dietary transitioning.

  • We use potty pans with puppy pads for the pups when they are little and only inside. Once they are older they will have experience of going potty outside. This helps to prepare them that outside is their place to go potty. This is something you will have to continue to work with once they are home. The key is to be patient

  • We do not allow Cavapoos to be bred. They do come with a strict Spay/Neuter policy. Our Miniature poodles do come with the option of full AKC. Please state if you are interested in breading. Usually a full registry puppy costs more. If you are planning to breed your puppy someday, we expect you to be honest and upfront with us. If we should decide to sell you a puppy with full breeding rights, we want to make sure we help you choose a healthy puppy that meets breed standards. We also want to work with people that will have the same standards and policies of honesty that we think are very important when it comes to breeding.

  • You can only DNA test for certain diseases. This depends on the dog breed.

For an overlapping disease, we make sure that we don't breed carriers to carriers when breeding Cavapoos. Genetic diversity is necessary, but it's important to know what your dog’s DNA is so you can make the best possible choices in pairing dogs.

DNA testing for dogs is fairly new and we are learning new things all the time and discovering new genes we can test for.

For the hips and patella issues, there are no DNA tests. For those, we do OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certifications. We run these tests once they are 2 years of age. When the dogs pass, you have more confidence that your future pups won't have those issues, but there are no guarantees because just like humans, two parents can have perfect eyes and have a child that needs glasses (or any other number of things).
