Why Huck’s Adventures?
At Huck’s Adventures we are committed to breeding healthy and happy Cavapoos and Miniature Poodle puppies that will make a wonderful addition to your family and home. As a small, in-home breeder located in Atkins, Iowa, we prioritize the well-being and quality of our dogs. We breed one litter at a time so we can focus on that specific litter. We spend a lot of time with with each puppy, performing daily tasks and curriculum based “classes”.
What Is A Cavapoo?
The Cavapoo is a highly sought-after small designer breed, created by crossing a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a Poodle. Known for their affectionate, intelligent, and gentle temperament, Cavapoos make exceptional family companions.
These dogs are naturally social and thrive on human interaction. They form strong bonds with their families, are patient with children, and are typically easy to train—making them an excellent choice for both first-time and experienced dog owners.
Cavapoos are often recognized for their soft, wavy to curly coats and signature “teddy bear” appearance. Coat colors can vary and commonly include shades of white, cream, apricot, red, brown, and black.
In size, Cavapoos are small and manageable, generally weighing between 8–25 pounds and standing approximately 9–14 inches tall at the shoulder. Their moderate energy level makes them well-balanced companions—they enjoy daily walks and playtime but are equally content relaxing and cuddling at home. This adaptability makes them well-suited for both apartment living and larger homes.
Thanks to their Poodle lineage, Cavapoos are often considered low-shedding and may be a good option for individuals with mild allergies. With proper care, they typically have a lifespan of 12–15 years.

Huck’s Adventures began with the purchase of our first Cavapoo. We instantly fell in love with him and named him Huck. From that moment, we were eager to explore the exciting adventures he would lead us to. Our journey has been filled with joy, learning, and the unwavering bond we share with these wonderful dogs and puppies. We're dedicated to providing the same loving care and enriching experiences to every Cavapoo and Miniature Poodle puppy we welcome into our family and, ultimately, into yours.
We are a small in-home breeder located in Atkins, Iowa, conveniently close to Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. All of our dogs live with us in our home and are truly part of our family. We focus on breeding one litter at a time to ensure we can devote quality, individual attention to each puppy before they go to their forever homes. It is an honor for us to love and help raise your puppy, providing a strong foundation for a happy and healthy life.
